Santa Brigida 1998

This wine has been awarded a Bronze Medal at "Atlanta International Wine Summit Competition 2001" in Atlanta (Georgia) and another Bronze Medal at the "Sixth Annual Challenge 2004" of "The Wine Review" of Singapore. Ratings: Wine Spectator 90/100, Gambero Rosso 2 glasses, Luca Maroni I.P. 79, Falstaff 88/100, Mondo-Weine der Welt 87.

Classification: I.G.T Colli della Toscana Centrale (Supertuscan)

Grape varieties blend: Sangiovese 70%, Cabernet-Sauvignon 30%

Vinification: Separate fermentation for each variety on controlled temperature (25° to 30° C) without "governo".

Maturation and Refinement: French oak (Allier, Nevers, Tronçais, Vosges) 60% and American oak (West Cumberland) 40% barriques for 1 year, then long refinement in bottle (min. 6 months).

Flavour: very intense and powerful, soft and spicy, licorice and mint, full body but harmonic and deep .
